In the Informatics era

There is no way of talking about the future without talking of informatics and its new Technologies. For that reason, this fifth and next to last edition of the series the 'Future of Dentistry', published by Revista ABO Nacional (ABO National Magazine), talks about the new perspectives for dentists arising from the informatics evolution coming from the past and already transforming the present time. They are changes of several ways, in the daily dental practice - as from a simple and routinely process to a more complex ones -, the dental office management, the teaching and continuing education and, over all, in the relationship and communication with colleagues, patients and including the government, regarding public service. The report approaches such subject matter having the collaboration of dentists, such as, Cléber Bidegain Pereira, Israel Chilvarquer, César Arita, Antonio Eduardo Ribeiro, Luiz Carlos Pardini, Plínio Tomaz, Mario Taba Júnior and Luiz Fernando Lobo, who engage themselves in following su ch transformations and also disclosing them among their colleagues. At last, it is clear that the same way that today is not possible to imagine personal relationships without a computer, internet and mobile phone, the dental professional cannot avoid such advancements, but has to face it with no fear or prejudice and take advantage of great benefits they bring to the Dentistry.
