ABO Board of Directors took office in Minas Gerais

ABO Board of Directors - 2010-2013
With representation of many professional areas, entities from national and international authorities and private enterprise, the new ABO Board of Directors took office on February.5 th of 2010, in a solemn ceremony which gathered 500 guests at the Ouro Minas Palace Hotel in Belo Horizonte , Minas Gerais State . Dr. Newton Miranda, a dentist from Minas Gerais, took office as the new President of the National Executive Council for the 2010-2013 management. In his speech the emphasis was his call to his peers to work, saying he accepted the challenge “because I hold tight to Dentistry with the eyes staring at the future”. Read more .
FDI'2009
Brazil: successful
in Singapore

Thanks to ABO's international performance, Brazil has just taken over the presidency of FDI, with Roberto Vianna, besides other important positions in the
worldwide entity. The positions were taken during the FDI'2009, held between the 2 nd and 5 th September, in Singapore , when the countdown to the FDI'2010 to be held in Salvador began.

Dental Congress
The application for the FDI'2010 can be done on-line
The official 2010 FDI Annual World Dental Congress website is already operating (www.fdi2010.com.br). The Congress will take place in Salvador – brazilian Bahia State , from 2 nd to 5 th of September 2010. It is also possible to apply by internet as well as search for all the programmes and much more. Soon the website will be in English and Spanish too. All Brazilian and Latin American dentists will pay aspecial fees nd the applications done by March 29 th will get a discount. Payments can be done by bank invoice or credit card. It is possible to pay in three instalments. Check.

From Singapore to Brazil

FDI and ABO work together organizing the FDI'2010 to be held in September next year in the Brazilian city of Salvador, in Bahia.

Araçoiaba: partnership with FDI makes mortality rates drop
In Araçoiaba, a town in the country side of Pernambuco state, ABO's Dentistry Center has helped to raise the Brazilian Human Development Index (HDI).

The market of equipment and materials for dental and oral hygiene products has been advancing like anything in the Country. Brazil is not only a large market in the world, but it has potential to grow even more

The Public Power and the Medicine support ABO's causes
The awareness work to expand access to quality oral health for all Brazilians, which ABO develops in the whole country, extrapolates more than 220 thousand dentists represented by the entity, reaching authorities of other professional categories and the public power.

Brazilian program to fight AIDS is reference worldwide
The Unified Health System (SUS), which regulates the public health service in Brazil, has as one of its main features the basic health care, which foresees the performance of teams of professionals closest to the population, establishing a link with them and increasing their commitment and responsibility with patients and communities.
